We got to Tassie early, watching the sun rise from the deck of the boat.

We disembarked at 6:40am, but leaving the ship was such a mess! Everyone had to have temperature checks and our QR code scanned. But silly me wrote the wrong thing on the form so I got questioned a bit more than Josh. But they let us through thank goodness. Imagine getting all that way to be turned back again!

We drove to Devonport to get fuel, and we had breakfast at a park nearby. We had a chat to a lady walking her dog who suggested we go west, as it was very busy in the east of the island, so we did. But first, Josh tried to help out a Spanish couple who were having car trouble. No luck there unfortunately.

We set off for the north west of Tasmania, as suggested, and our first stop was in Penguin, where we got out to stretch our legs. There was a lovely church there that of course I snapped a picture of!

Next up was a tulip farm called Table Cape. Sadly it wasn't open because there weren't many tulips, but we put the drone up and had a fly over, which produced some lovely shots. We also saw some opium poppies along the way, which are only legally grown in Tassie. They smelled strange and had signage and cameras around warning people against going into the field.

We also went to a couple of lovely beaches along the way to Stanley, Sister Beach was particularly nice.

We arrived at Stanley and oh what a lovely place it was. Lots of photos taken because the houses were so pretty. We drove up to a hill over the town and opposite The Nut, an old volcanic plug towering over the town. It was just lovely.

We camped in a town called Forest for the night at the local sports field.
