We left Ah Sye at about 11am. It was raining and not very fun packing up.

We stopped off at Benambra, a little country town, and had a walk around. It was very cute, with lots of old signage, buildings and the little barber in the mechanic shop!

We then drove through Omeo, another nice place, before taking the Bogong High Plains road into the mountains. We stopped at a campsite along this road to have lunch, then visited McNamara’s Hut. It was a lovely drive to the hut, through what looked like an alpine garden, and low clouds hanging around. We bumped into the National Parks ranger who was coming back from the hut and had a chat to her.

Next, we drove to the Bucketty campsite, going for a walk from there to the hut nearby, about 1km.

We stayed at that campsite for the night, and were the only ones there! It was a lovely site, definitely a strong favourite, quiet and pretty. The day was also still really foggy and atmospheric. I made pho for dinner too, so that was a plus!
