Josh had his Havaiana stolen in the night, probably by a Tassie Devil. He was not impressed. But we saw SO many animals in the night time when we drove back from taking photos – 2x wombats, pademelons everywhere, a Tassie Devil and we also saw a poisonous snake in the day time, as well as other hoppy things I didn’t know the name of!
We spent the day driving down 4wd tracks. It was so much fun. We drove the Sandy Cape track all the way to the lighthouse at the end. There were some guys there lobster fishing in scuba suits in the rough waters. I didn’t realise it at the time but this was the track where many cars had been stuck on the beach and ended up completely drowned! Lots of quicksand around. When we couldn’t go any further, we went back along the path we’d come.
Some friend’s of Josh’s were doing the Balfour Track today so we had a look down there and tried to call them on the radio without much luck. I think he’d have liked to join them, but didn’t want to do the track alone. It looked pretty sketchy and I definitely wasn’t keen.
We went back to Camp Elsewhere for the night as it was a really good campsite, and it was so nice to be surrounded by so many animals.
