Since we couldn’t drive the Bridle Track through to Hill End, we took the Box Ridge Road instead, which went around. There were some waterfalls just off to the side along this road because of all the rain!

Oh Hill End is such a lovely place though. We got out and had a look around, taking a walk down some of the main streets. We then drove to the other end of the Bridle Track and went down 100m or so. It was pretty sketchy on that side, probably not too many people went down that side of the track. We turned around and went back to the safety of Hill End.

We left Hill End along the Hill End Road, driving through Hargraves to Mudgee. What a lovely place that is, I could definitely see myself living there. We kept going and ended up in the Bylong Valley, where we camped at the community campground there for $10 including some hot showers. Unfortunately, it was also the night of the local village’s Christmas party so our quiet night was not so quiet and we couldn’t use the picnic areas. But at least the locals had a good time!
