We spent a lot of time driving around today, and the bad thing about driving is that sometimes there's just nowhere to stop to take photos. So, while we had a lovely time driving around the narrow lanes of the Dales, I don't have too many pics to show of it.

The morning was, thankfully, sunny with blue skies. It sure made a difference from the awful grey, rainy days of the past few days.... I was getting quite sick of those, and it was summer! Honestly, British weather!

Our first stop was at the bottom of this bridge that we drove past, then went back to have a look. We then drove up the hill from there and saw it from above - quite impressive if I do say so!

Now, I don't want you to think I'm all about bridges, but we were driving down this road and looked up to see another amazing viaduct! This was the Ribblehead viaduct. It was so huge and impressive, so of course we had to stop and have a look...

We drove further south, stopping off at Haworth for a quick look around, then drove on to Hebden Bridge. This was a really nice place, I was pleasantly surprised. But I was also starving so we found a cafe to stop and have lunch in. Not long after we had lunch out in the sunshine, it started raining. Of course it did.

We drove a long way south and finally stopped in Edale in the Peak District at a farm campsite. It was a nice little campsite, with farm animals nearby, a friendly cat and decent amenities.

We set up the tent, then sat in the sunshine, watching this couple put up their tent. It was quite obviously the first time they had done it and was pretty entertaining to watch. We then had to pack up in a hurry because it started pouring down! We sat in the car and waited for the rain to ease before jumping out and sorting out a curry for dinner.
