Day 14 saw us driving around the Trossachs, before heading south to Glasgow. We couldn't drive the way that we wanted because there was a road closed which cut off our route, so we did a bit of a loop then kept going. Sadly we didn't manage to get into the more interesting parts of the area. Which means that I only have one photo from the day, as I didn't take my camera out in Glasgow.

After Glasgow, we found a Decathlon store nearby. The mattress that Josh was using had a manufacturing issue and was losing air, so it was useless. I went in and sorted out a replacement, because we still had another 2 weeks of camping to go and it was an expensive mattress! That night, we found a really good campsite, with loads of space, good amenities and even an undercover area because, of course, it was raining. Again.

The next day, we left the campsite and drove south, through Gretna Green and back into England. We picked up some lunch on the way and drove down to the Lake District. I wanted to show Josh Wast Water, which I'd been to with my parents before, in this post. It was such a lovely place and it totally didn't disappoint.

We drove up the road in the last photo to Wasdale Head, ending up at a pub and a National Trust campsite at the end of the road. The view over the fields and stone walls was just too good so we stayed for a bit to take some photos.

I then took Josh to one of the best roads to drive in the UK - Hardknott Pass/Wrynose Pass. I'd been there with my parents but I knew Josh would love to drive it - with its 30% gradient and hairpin bends, it looked like a fun drive. I admit though, those 30% steep inclines still made me panic a bit, it's just so steep!

We got to Kendal in the Lakes, then decided to spend the night in Yorkshire. We ended up at a campsite in a lovely little village called Dent that was just inside the Yorkshire Dales. The village and campsite was lovely, with a large enclosed area for eating when the weather wasn't very nice. The only thing was that the campsite showers cost 50p. As neither of us had a 50p coin, neither of us could have a shower that night. It was so frustrating!

We went for a walk around the little village before dinner. It was so pretty.
