After leaving Asolo, I drove for over an hour to get to my next destination. It was the most amazing drive - I love driving through mountains and Italian mountains are spectacular. I made it to the campsite that I had chosen a bit before 3pm, paid up and picked a spot. Its so hard picking a camping spot, and while my first choice was ok, when I got out of the camper and looked around, I found a better spot in full view of the beautiful mountains!

I parked up and went to walk into town.

I got into town and it was really quaint but so busy. It's well-known as a ski village, but it was so warm the day that I walked there, I don't think there was much skiing happening! I spent a couple of hours wandering around the shops, poking into a lovely bookshop, having a look in the church and generally soaking up the atmosphere - the sun was out, it was warm, people were happy and I was in a seriously pretty village.

I stopped off at a convenience store to buy something for dinner. Now don't judge me, but I saw a 1L Tetrapak of wine. I spent a lot of time wondering if I should get it, just to try it out (it was so cheap). In the end I bought it to see what it was like... the verdict was: actually not too bad but quite watery. I bought some food as well, and left the village to go back to my camper. God the whole area was just beautiful - I love mountains.

I made dinner, had a shower and got settled into my camper, just watching the sun over the mountains. It started setting, shooting out oranges, pinks and purples on the clouds. What a perfect way to end the day.

Campsite: Camping Dolomiti

Rating: 9/10. Busy but lots of space to park up. Clean, quiet, helpful and friendly staff, good facilities and an amazing view. Not too pricey (for Italy). The walk to town was slightly long but certainly doable. It would be a good base for going exploring the amazing Dolomites!
