I left my hotel in Prague at 5am for a 7:30am flight to Hungary, meaning that I rocked up to my hotel in Budapest at 10am to drop my luggage off and had the whole day to explore!
First stop was the Fisherman's Bastion and Matthias church up on the hill. My hotel was on the Buda side (the other side being Pest), which meant it was an easy, if steep, walk up the hill. This was the view of Budapest that I first saw.... pretty good right?
You had to pay to go into the church, so I did - it was cheap! And WOW I was not disappointed. I've been to a lot of churches, but this one was special. It was so different to anything I've seen before, so colourful and pretty! The architecture was also incredible, with the most amazing ceilings and staircases!
