After driving through Brie (and *ahem* getting bogged), I head back to safer Route Nationale roads. I was just driving along when this hill appeared in front of me with a massive cathedral on top. That was my first sighting of Laon. It was so impressive.
As I got closer, it was even more impressive. The old town was completely built on top of or on the side of the hill, with windy roads up it for cars. It was a bit of a sketchy drive, but I made it to the top and parked.
It was such a lovely place. Definitely a highlight - the stone buildings and cobbles, not to mention the views!
