I left the Laon early in the morning, making a detour when I spotted a brown sign for the Abbaye de Vauclair. Mostly crumbled ruins, it was deserted and a lovely start to the morning.
I then set my GPS for Reims, driving through the beautiful Champagne region. I spent a good 2 or 3 hours driving the Route Touristique du Champagne with my GPS system trying to turn me around. But oh it was so gorgeous driving through vines and little stone towns.
