We left our favourite campsite of the trip and stopped off at a poppy field that we'd seen nearby. I hopped out and took a couple of photos - they were so red and pretty! (also, no poppies were harmed, I stayed on the outside of the field)

We then drove back through a village that we'd been through the previous day - it was SO CUTE and so I had to go back! This was the village of Rockbourne. We parked in a local council carpark and walked up to see the church nearby. The 11th/12th-century church of St Andrew was a flint building with a tiled roof.

We got back in the car, but a little bit up the road, I made Josh stop again. It was adorable, with lots of thatched houses built next to a stream. He kindly dropped me off and I walked along taking pictures as he drove slowly up and down the main road waiting for me.

We drove down past Southampton and visited the little town of Portchester. I can't quite remember why we went there, but there was a castle. It was, however, full of the cutest little houses! It was raining once again so we had a little look around the castle and old church, but I spent most of the time looking at the houses!

We got back in the dry car and started off again. The weather started to get better as we drove east, and we took the coastal road when we got to Worthing, driving through Hove and then Brighton, and all the way to the Seven Sisters Country Park. It had been a long day of driving so we parked the car and went for a walk to Cuckmere Haven. I had been there before (this post) but it is a lovely part of the country so I wanted to take Josh. We walked from the carpark to the beach, which actually was a long walk - I didn't remember it being so long! There were lots of birds that Josh took photos of, and lots of World War II bunkers strewn around the beach, which I hadn't noticed before. We went to have a look at them but they were a bit overgrown and scary.

We found a campsite nearby in a little village called Alfriston so drove up some very narrow roads to get there. Would not have wanted to take a caravan there that's for sure! The campsite was mainly a big field, and the facilities were crap - they were dirty and smelly. It started raining, but wasn't too bad, but there was a thunderstorm complete with lightning that night! I can tell you, I did not appreciate lying in a tent with all that going on!
