My best friend came over to the UK for six whole weeks of adventure! As he had never been to this side of the world before, We spent the first week in London so he could get over jetlag and have a look around this city that I've lived in for 5 years.

The first thing we did was go to Covent Garden one early Sunday morning to see the Fleurs de Villes, a series of dresses made out of flowers. This was obviously my call, as this was the last day they were going to be up - being flowers, they didn't last long, though they were still looking nice when we saw them. They were super pretty, and some talent had sure gone into each display, they were all so well done.

From there, we went down to the Thames and walked along the river. We went up to the Royal Courts of Justice, and stopped for a coffee. After caffeination, we headed off in the direction of St Paul's as I was keen to show Josh my favourite building in London, the cathedral.

We went on a hunt for a Sunday lunch. Without a reservation, it's quite hard to find, as pubs are all packed with people. We did manage to find one and settled down for lunch. We were near the Barbican, so after lunch I took Josh over to my second-favourite buildings in London and we went to the conservatory (which is only open on Sundays) and had a look around. I had been there before (on a much quieter Sunday!), so we just wandered and enjoyed the plants and humidity.

We went home after that, as it was getting to be around 3pm, which is late when you're still on Sydney time!

I'll also leave here a picture of Tower Bridge that I took the day after. We caught the Tube to Waterloo to walk up Southbank, then caught a Clipper ferry to Greenwich to have lunch. The photo is from onboard the boat, taken after we'd gone under the bridge then out the other side. I showed Josh around the lovely Old Royal Naval College and the beautiful buildings there, then we went to the market and picked up some food for lunch... Hello delicious Cuban sandwich!
