Today featured more wandering around this charming city until 2pm, then I joined another Walkative walking tour, this time World War II and Jewish History. There is so much European history that I never learned in school in Australia, so there was a lot of assumed knowledge that I didn't have, and I consequently struggled a little with this tour. But I'll get into that a little later.

First, it was another nice and sunny early morning and I was up early again to search out the pretty spots in Wrocław. There sure were a lot of them! It was cold this morning, so I popped into a cafe for something to warm me up. I stopped at a place called Czekoladziarnia and ordered a little hot chocolate that had a dollop of jam in the bottom. It was delicious!

I met up with the tour guide and group at 2pm and started the learning! As I wrote above, I struggled a bit partly because I couldn't remember a lot of history and partly because I had huge gaps in my knowledge of what happened in World War II. We learned virtually nothing about Poland in school. I guess you can't learn everything... so I tried my best to keep up with the commentary. But the conclusion of this is that I don't remember anything that was said in that tour. So I can't tell you anything other than that Poland has a really horrible past.

At the end, we all left to go our separate ways and I went back to the university. You know those blue and gold doors that I've been putting up pics of? Well you can go inside them and have a look at the museum in the university! It's worth the price (it's only cheap) just to walk up the stairs to the Mathematical Tower and have a look at the view over the city. Oh, also, the architecture in one of the rooms is very very nice!

That night I went back to the same restaurant I'd gone to two nights before, as the food and wine had been so nice and well-priced. I don't usually visit the same place twice, but it was worth it for the yummy food!

I popped into Starbucks again on the way back to the hotel - I was missing tea and the room didn't have a kettle. So I bought the biggest tea I could and took it back with me to enjoy while reading my book. I was off to Krakow in the morning so I had an early night of packing and sleep!
