On the morning of our third day in the Lake District, we drove to the National Trust site Aira Force. While it does sound a little bit like somewhere you might see planes or army equipment, instead there was actually a waterfall. And it sure was in force, given that we'd had a bit of rain on the previous few days!

We decided to do a walk that went all the way up to the top of the falls and along the river a bit then all the way back down again. As with the other walks, the orange and green of the changing season was so nice to see.

After Aira Force, we drove on to a place called Pooley Bridge. The bridge which this village takes its name from collapsed in 2015, after standing for 251 years. The old 18th century bridge was washed away after some intense flooding as part of a storm.

We did a little bit of a walk around the town before settling into a cafe for some lunch.
