Saturday in Lisbon, I was up early and boarding a train at 7:30 to take me on a 45 minute journey to the region of Sintra. Once there, I bought a day pass for the buses and stood in line for the bus to take me to my first destination, the Pena Palace. This beautiful, colourful set of buildings opened at 9:30, and I got there right on opening time.I bought my ticket and went to explore.

The palace was one of the most beautiful buildings I think I've ever visited. It was so over the top with its decoration, there were azulejos everywhere and it was just so pretty everywhere you looked. But I'll let you be the judge of that...

I left the gardens of Pena Palace at about midday, and caught the bus to the town of Sintra. I will leave the post there, however, as I have lots of other pretty photos to show you! Stay tuned...
