It was the morning of the third day that I had been in Sault. I had to check out of the hotel that AA would no longer cover, and I'd already found a cheaper hotel nearby on Booking.com (thank goodness Sault had more than one hotel!). I left my lovely room and carried my few plastic bags of clothes to leave at the new hotel - not quite as nice but definitely more within my price range! With that done, it was time to go to the mechanics.

If you'll recall, the AA had tried to get me a taxi from the mechanic to the hotel when the camper first broke down. Turns out that it wasn't really that far a walk, and it was actually a really nice walk as it went down into lavender country! I got to the mechanics shop and set about finding what part it was that was broken. It took a while for the mechanics to get to my car but I was going to be annoying and hang around until they had diagnosed the problem. Drive shaft. So I emailed Getaway and they set about finding a new one in the UK to post over. The mechanics called a few places in France too. Being a Japanese import, it definitely wasn't an easy thing to find, as I realised as I did a bit of Googling too. Getaway found one and said it would be sent.

However, a bit later on it turned out that the supplier of the drive shaft didn't actually have one in stock (ARGH!), so the Getaway guy just took one out of a camper that they had at the shop. I say "just" but it seemed like a very fiddly job! They posted it and assured me that UPS would deliver it tomorrow.

I went back to Sault and the new hotel hoping that this was my last night in the little village.

These are a couple of photos I took on a walk around the village - I had to keep myself busy to stop from stressing out!
