My great uncle passed away in March and I had to go to Wales for his funeral. I caught an early bus from London to Cardiff, where my parents were picking me up to take me to Pontypridd. It was a lovely service, with the Welsh choir that he and my grandfather had been a part of in attendance. I met members of my family I’d never seen before too. My dad drove us all back to Devon that evening – a big day of driving!

The next day we went for a great walk from Hatherleigh to Winkleigh and back again. The weather started off ok, but gradually the sky got blacker and blacker as we were walking, until it started raining… Then of course it got sunny again! It was quite muddy underfoot too, but the rain came as we were walking along paths rather than fields. We were then treated to an absolutely glorious sunset!

The day after, I was supposed to catch the bus home at around 2:30pm, which gave us plenty of time to do a walk around the village and say hello to the new lambs in the fields, as well as have a Sunday roast lunch! Then it was back to London for me!
