After seeing the Gaudi-designed La Sagrada, of course the next destination was Park Güell and the Gaudi House museum, both designed by the architect. He definitely had a very distinct style. I'm not sure I particularly liked it, but it was certainly different - full of very organic shapes and bright colours. Kind of like Art Nouveau in its decoration, with a bit of surrealism thrown into the mix. The park was the standard images you usually equate with Barcelona and even in the grey of winter the colours stood out. It was a nice place to wander around.
I then visited the house museum, which was nice and full of interesting furniture and decorations.
