One of the best parts of my drive through France was definitely having the freedom to pull off the main roads in search of treasures. After leaving Dijon, I was driving down the D974, eating apricots as I went, when I spotted a beautiful chateau from the road. I found the next turn and pulled off, ending up in a tiny little place called Brochon. You could only access the chateau at certain times in the week as it is used by the local high school, and sadly it was not open when I pulled past. But wow.
After having a look around, I head back to the main road in search of my original destination, a more well-known chateau called Chateau de Clos Vougeot. From there, it was all vineyards as I drove along the Bourgogne wine route.
