A beautiful manor house in the South of England near Dorking. It was given to the National Trust in the 1940's by Mrs Greville, who was a very rich widow with no children. When she died, she even gave her jewellery to the Queen Mother (then Queen) including a necklace reportedly belonging to Marie Antoinette! It was a drizzly English day but that didn't really dampen the mood at Polesden Lacey, and the house looked more like a grand house from a novel in the rain.
