Scala de Bovolo was closed for renovations while I was in Venice so I didn't get to walk up it, but it was so beautiful from the outside that I don't really feel like I missed out - I don't think its view would have been improved by being inside the staircase!
From there I went wandering around Venice. I was trying to get to a some places I had marked on my map but had to turn around more than a few times because I was either lost or deterred by flooding. It was so easy to get lost in Venice - the streets are so narrow and you can't see any landmarks to judge where you are! But I think being lost in Venice must be one of my favourite things now, it was just so picturesque that I didn't mind, even when it was flooding and raining at the same time!
