Amsterdam was my next adventure away from London on the August summer long weekend. It was a good place for new adventures in Europe, as it was a perfectly short flight from London (40 mins), with good transport, interesting places and they spoke English. I also was on business class on KLM on the way home, as it had been cheaper than economy, so that was nice!

I stayed at this charming bed and breakfast just outside the city, with chandeliers on the ceiling and the hostess made cake every day. The breakfast tray she provided was amazing - pastries, bread, eggs, yoghurt, fruit, etc.

The plan was to go to some churches, museums, I had a bike tour out to a windmill, clog factory and cheese factory, and so it was a pretty packed weekend. Starting with Nieuwe Kirk, the main church in Amsterdam.
