I'd been in London for almost TWO whole years and STILL hadn't been to the Harry Potter Studio Tour. Oh it wasn't that I wasn't interested or that I didn't have time or anything like that. It was because by the time I'd think about it and organise to book tickets, they'd all sold out! So finally I had a few days off between jobs and bought 10am tickets.

I would absolutely urge everyone interested in Harry Potter to go. Even those of you who are just vaguely interested or who just like movies and designy stuff. It was incredible. I'm much more a fan of the books - oh the movies are good, but nothing beats reading the story (not to mention that they changed book stuff in the movie for no apparent reason...). As a designer, I was very interested in how all the paper bits and pieces were designed, and the attention to detail that the prop makers and set designers showed. Everything was perfect.

It takes a good long time to get through - 3 to 4 hours is recommended. I took a lot of photos so I have split this post into two. It was very dark in there so please forgive me for the noise on some of them! Absolutely fascinating though....
