From Savigny-les-Beaune, it was only a short drive to Beaune. The main attraction in Beaune was the Hospices, the Hôtel-Dieu, which is a beautiful example of 15th century Burgundian architecture. It was built in 1443 and remained as a hospital until as recently as the 1970's!

The town of Beaune itself was also nice, but I didn't spend long there on account of the driving rain that started coming down as I was in a boulangerie buying a baguette and a pear tart for the journey onwards.
