DAY 167
3rd August 2021
We went to Ormiston Gorge in the morning. Josh’s back still wasn’t happy. We walked to the pool – you can swim there but there were 100’s of dead stinky fish in there and on the shore. They die because of the lack of oxygen in the water. Not even sure I’d want to swim there when the water was better after seeing that!

I went on the walk to the lookout by myself where the view was deadset stunning. I wish I could have done the longer walk around but it was not to be!

We then backtracked to Mount Sondor lookout. This mountain was amazing! It’s also the first/last point on the Larapinta trail that runs all through this area. Would love to do it.... one day, it's only 220km.

We then worked out a plan of attack for the next few day, heading back to Hugh River for the night, as it was a nice place with lots of camping and heaps of available firewood. Josh spent the afternoon in the tent trying to feel better.

DAY 168
4th August 2021
We stayed another day at our camp at Hugh River. It was so nice just watching the budgerigars.

I just spent the day editing photos and videos and trying to stay warm – the weather had taken a cold turn and the wind was freezing. Saw more Major Mitchells. It was a very cold night though and I didn’t sleep very well.
