Started the day at Ellery Creek / Bighole, where there was a gorge and a swimming hole, which was very cold at the moment! Did a walk from there into the bush called the Dolomite Walk.

We went to Serpentine Gorge next and walked 1km to the gorge. There wasn’t as much water as at Ellery and Simpson’s but the birds were loving it! They were everywhere. The budgies would waddle to the water to drink then fly off in clouds of birds. There were some awesome cycads on the other side of the pool as well.

We were going to go to Ormiston gorge next but Josh had a sore back and didn’t want to walk anymore, so we went to the Finke River 2 mile free camp instead. It was chokers, and all these groups of vans with people presumably paying for a “bush camping” experience kept coming past. But the birds were awesome and I saw 3 Major Mitchell Cockatoos and had a lazy afternoon of photo editing!
