DAY 158
25th July 2021
We decided to go to the tip of mainland Australia today. The tip was SO BUSY for what is just a walk out on the rocks and a sign. But we did it and got the obligatory photo with the sign.

We then went to drive the 5 beaches drive around the coast, which was quite 4wd-y. We stopped at the perfect campsite and got set up for a cruisy day. The wind, however, had other ideas, and at about 5pm we called it and packed up as it was so windy.
We told Rachel and Jayden that they could stay and we would meet up with them the next day, as it really was a lovely camp and we didn't want to deprive them but they came with us and we all went back to Somerset camp again, which was not windy at all under the trees but nowhere near as nice. Such a shame, but the rooftop tent isn't very fun to be in when it's very windy.

DAY 159
26th July 2021
The Tip to Musgrave
Oh what a long day of driving this was!
We left Somerset then drove to the ferry via a WW2 plane that had crashed.

We crossed the river then drove down all the corrugations of the PDR. It was so awful, I felt like my brain was just being shaken up and everything in the Landy was rattling loose. Honestly it’s the worst road we’ve ever been on. We got to Bramwell Roadhouse for lunch and stopped, buying hot chips and soft drinks, which was nice after all the shaking.

We set off again for Musgrave, trying to get the corrugations done in one day. Josh and I were going a lot faster than Rachel and Jayden so we got to the roadhouse quite a bit before them and started setting up camp for the night in an area large enough so they could camp next to us. We were hoping a little that they had stopped earlier, as both of us were wrecked after that and I don’t think we were feeling very sociable! Plus also I think we probably should have broken it up… We felt better after we had showers though and took drugs for our headaches! They pulled in, both of them looking like how we felt too, so I think they were in the same boat lol. It really had been an awful drive.
Josh and I went to the restaurant for dinner, where I ordered a sparkling wine and a chicken kiev as a late birthday treat.
