DAY 151
18th July 2021
We went to Wujal Wujal falls in the morning. They were really nice waterfalls too.

Then we went on to Cooktown. We stopped in the IGA there to stock up for the next few days as it would be a while before we went shopping again then went to the lookout at the top of the hill with great views.

We were going to stay at the racecourse for $15 but it was right in the middle of a field. We parked and started setting up but then had a chat about it because it was so hot and the spot we picked out of the few that we re left was not private at all, and only 2 showers for all the people. So we decided to drive up to the Endeavour River Bush Camp. It was early to set up camp but the next camps were quite far away and it wasn’t worth pushing on. We pulled up to pay $25 for the campsite, chatted to the owner then went to our spot to set up. It was much better, shady and a really nice campsite. Goannas came around as we were making lunch – bacon and eggs! Then spent the afternoon editing photos because it was early. We went to have showers and ran into… Rachael and Jayden! They had also gone to the racecourse and decided the same as us!
DAY 152
19th July 2021
Since we kept bumping into them, we asked Rachael and Jayden if they wanted to go up to Cape York with us, since they were heading in the same direction! We caught up to make a plan in the morning, deciding to go through Lakefield NP. We stopped at the Old Laura Homestead for a look around, as well as a couple of pools filled with lilies.

Then we drove to the Ranger Station for lunch. I was going to book a NP campsite for the night but everyone wanted to keep going so I was overruled. We ended up at the Musgrave Roadhouse, as there weren’t many campsites to choose from. We didn’t have a bad spot but it was busy.
