We woke up to a foggy morning.

The crocodile cruise ticket allowed us two trips on the boat (so worth the money!), so we went to the cruise terminal up the road for an 8:30am start. Stupidly, I got the time wrong and there was no 8:30 cruise, it was at 9:30. So we had an hour to kill. So we drove back to town and to the start of the Creb track to have a look at it. It was down a really nice road called Stewart Creek Road, gorgeous! It was a lovely morning and lots of cows around down there. The Creb track is the old Cairns Regional Electricity Board track (CREB), and runs from the Daintree to Wujal Wujal, where we camped later on (though we went on the paved roads, not this one).

We drove back to the cruise terminal for 9:30am and got on the boat with only 2 other people. We saw so much wildlife, and the guide had such a keen eye for things! About 7 crocs, 3 tree snakes, lots of beautiful rainforest and mangroves. It was a really good cruise and worth the ticket price.

We then went to the Daintree Ferry and crossed the river for $23.

We drove out to Cape Kimberley but there wasn’t much there other than beach, so we continued on to Alexandra Lookout. We put the drone up because there was no one there but all of a sudden we were surrounded by a busload of tourists, they were just everywhere. We brought the drone back down again.

We then drove to the Jindalba Boardwalk and did that walk – there were lots of nice plants around. We were going to have lunch there but there were just tooooo many mozzies!

We went to the Daintree Icecream co and got the sampler of four icecreams. They were so yum. The flavours were inspired by the area: coconut, wattleseed, passionfruit and one called soursop, which was sort of like lemonade and very nice. I did not take a photo, unfortunately!

From there we drove to Cape Tribulation. We were going to camp there but the campsite was full. We saw Rachael and Jayden (our friends from Speewah) setting up camp in the carpark of the caravan park!

We went on the boardwalk walk instead, after having lunch in the carpark of the walk. It was such a beautiful walk, there were fan palms EVERYWHERE!

Without anywhere to camp for the night, we decided to drive up to Wujal Wujal. It was a dirt road and then a 4wd only track with a couple of creek crossings. Then there was a hill with a 31% gradient – steepest hill I’ve ever seen that was tarred. But there were sections that were equally steep that weren’t tarred either so it was a bit random. We had to go down a 27% gradient on the other side. I don't know what it's like on the Creb track, but getting over that hill must be pretty difficult on a dirt 4wd track!

We camped at a sports ground. Apparently it’s $20 a night but there was no one to pay and it wasn’t very clear. We weren’t even sure that it was open! But it had showers and loos so we figured we’d just stay and see if someone tried to kick us out!
