We started the day looking for platypus in the Eungella NP. We saw a couple, as well as a whole heap of turtles and cormorants.

We went to the Sky Window next and did the walk around there, then started the Cedar Grove trail to the Tree Arch.

Oh my god it was so muddy. It took us ages to get there and back even though the track was only 1.5km – we and others before us had put leaves and branches across the track to try to make it less muddy. It was so slippery – we’d passed some people who had slipped and fallen though thankfully neither of us did.

We finally made it back to the car then drove the scary drive down the hill, it was so steep. We took the back roads to the highway through the cane fields and drove through Proserpine to camp by the lake there with about 1,000 other people. It was very noisy, but free with free hot showers so hard to pass up.
