DAY 128
25th June, 2021
We spent the morning visiting Josh’s friend Tim in Holland Park, Brisbane then drove on a tour through the city, including the Mount Gravatt lookout. I'd never been to Brisbane and really liked it, it was a really nice city and you can live relatively close by which is always a plus. We stayed at Julian’s again.
DAY 129
26th June, 2021
Julian took us on a tourist drive! We went down to the Natural Bridge National Park down outside of the Gold Coast. It was SO PRETTY! I’m so glad we went there, it reminded me of that Where the Forest Meets the Sea book.
We then went to Burleigh Heads for lunch and we had some great ramen there!
We went back to Brisbane, parked and went for a walk around Southbank, then over through the city. So nice. Josh went around taking some street photos, below. It was such a vibrant city.
Big day – we went back to the car then went to “Eat Street”, which was like Boxpark in London only busier and with a cover charge. It was so, so busy.
DAY 130
27th June, 2021
We caught up with my friends Nat and James at Alphabet Cafe for brunch. It was DELICIOUS, though I knew it would be because they are always there!
We then walked back to Torbreck to see their apartment, which was still being renovated at the time. It was so lovely. Even though it was unfinished you could see what it was going to be like. They also took us up to the observational deck at the top of the apartment block which was cool. You can spot the building from all around as it’s quite distinctive. It’s such a well laid out building and thoughtfully designed as well.
We left Brisbane after midday and drove out to the D’Aguilar National Park for camping, which I had found as there were not many places to camp outside of Brisbane. It was called the Neurum Creek camping area and it was a really nice campsite. Was a very cold night though.
