DAY 99
23rd March 2021
We started to drive the Useless Loop road but the road was so bad that we couldn’t continue. The corrugations were awful. So instead we drove about 600kms to Carnarvon. We got some fuel and food there then went to a campsite but it was just too windy. We drove another 70km to one inland that was much more sheltered. What a day.
DAY 100
24th March 2021
We spent the day driving to Ningaloo. When we were changing sites last night, I took the opportunity with a little bit of reception to book a site there for 2 nights at Osprey Bay. Hoping it’s not too windy.
We drove to Exmouth via Burkett Road. Exmouth was strange: I thought it was nice – grass and trees – but there were also these huge military masts. Apparently they are for submarines off the coast. We drove through Cape Range NP to our camp. Got set up then worked on my laptop for a bit. At 4pm, we went for a swim. It was lovely and clear but oh-so-windy. Was a very scary and noisy night in the tent.
