I woke up very early the next day to go to my first destination - the village of Chédigny. I wanted to get there (as usual) before all the other tourists swarmed in. I was in luck, and could enjoy the only village in France with the rank of Jardin Remarquable all by myself. There are apparently at least 700 rose bushes planted here by the townspeople, who seemingly all decided to band together to beautify their village. They even have a rose festival every year. It definitely worked - it was a lovely part of the Loire, which I enjoyed with a fresh pain aux chocolat from the nearby boulangerie.
