I woke up in Mansle, ate a croissant and drove an hour and a half to the city of Poitiers to get there about 9am. The thing I remember most about Poitiers is the abundance of incredible churches... I think there was about 4 amazing ones that I went to. And I mean amazing - the oldest church in France (and possibly the Western world) is there. It was started in 4th century, but is covered in 12th - 14th century frescoes and its just incredible. Another lovely one is the Eglise Notre Dame la Grande, with interior columns that are painted with brightly coloured patterns.

Besides the churches, there was some pretty cool graffiti on the outer edges of the city, which I walked to along the river. I had a really great lunch there, before driving up close to Tours in the Loire.
