Thinking about this post, it was hard to decide what the highlights of my long weekend in Rome were! It was all pretty amazing - the architecture, the history, the art, the food! But here it is, my top 5.
1. DINNER AT TRATTORIA DER PALLARO
This was a set menu dinner - €25 for 4 courses plus wine and water. I thought it was great value and was definitely the highlight of the amazing food that I had while there
2. FIAT 500's
Oh how I loved seeing all the little vintage Fiat 500's through the city. I now want one.
3. SEEING THE SISTENE CHAPEL CEILING
I have wanted to see this since learning about it in high school. Definitely a dream come true
4. THE COLOSSEUM
It was so much bigger than I was expecting, and it really says "you're in Rome" when you see it for the first time. I had a moment where I got a bit choked up thinking about how lucky I was to live the life I live.
5. WALKING THROUGH TRASTEVERE
Such a beautiful part of Rome, its quite touristy but you can get away from that and find some lovely spots.
