I woke up on the morning of my birthday to another gorgeous sky. It was really early and the sun was just coming up in all its colourful, gradiented beauty.
When it was light, I walked to Gordes. Its just so lovely, carved out of the side of the hill with a view over the whole valley.
I went in search of a bakery, treating myself to a croissant and a pain au chocolate. After that, I went to explore the local church. It was nothing like any I've seen before, with faded and flaking paint that only made it more beautiful.
Gordes was definitely a highlight of the whole trip, and being there on my birthday just made it all the more special.
