Hold on to your hats... I couldn't be more excited to write about my trip to Iceland. There will be lots of exclamation marks, lots of photographs and probably lots of adjectives (particularly synonyms of "beautiful"). My time in Iceland was my #1 trip so far, it was just incredible.

I left London Gatwick at 12:30pm on Friday, arriving at Keflavik International Airport at 3:30pm. Even flying into the airport was exciting – Iceland had had the biggest snowfall in years, and it was white everywhere, with beautiful blue skies. Even the airport had piles of snow everywhere!!

I'd booked a bus to Reykjavik so hopped on and made my way to my Airbnb. I've never been happier to have bought my large Deuter bag – it has wheels AND a backpack section. I bought it because one time in Paris I was making my way around the Metro with my previous luggage and almost broke into tears lugging it up and down stairs. I've never used the backpack section since I bought it, though, but it came in super handy when there was too much snow around to pull a wheelie bag! Winner!

There was still some light around after I met my lovely hostess and dropped my luggage off, so I went to explore. And honestly fell in love with it instantly. The snow, the sky, the light... it was a magical place! I stayed out until the light faded, then head back to my accommodation to have a quick dinner and early night – big day tomorrow!
