I ventured over to the other side of the Duoro a bit before 10. I hadn't seen Porto from this angle before and it was just as pretty. This side is where all the port houses are and you can go in and have a port tasting tour. I would have liked to do this but a) had tickets booked for 11am and b) didn't really have a lot of time after that. Oh well! I walked back over the bridge and up the windy, hilly roads on the other side.

So I mentioned tickets... they were for a BOOKSHOP, of all things. Yes, Livraria Lello & Irmão has timed tickets that you have to pay for just to go into their shop. It was interesting, very Harry Potter, but so crowded.

All that was next was to go hunting for the last of the azulejos, then it was time to go to the airport. And then I hopped on a plane back to grey old England and got home about 11pm.

I'd highly recommend Porto. It was one of my favourite places - it was warm and pretty and the culture was amazing. I also had some very tasty food there, all very reasonably priced!
