I flew into Venice and got there about 12am on Friday night/Saturday morning. I don't think the owner of the small hotel/B&B I was staying at was particularly impressed with me... ooops!
On Saturday morning after an early breakfast, I went to San Giorgio Maggiore then went inside the Doge's Palace.
It rained pretty much the whole time I was there, and flooded too, though the colder winter weather kept a lot of the tourists away, bonus!
